Metamorphosis

Like a butterfly, we were once a crawling caterpillar unappreciated by many; then surrounded by cocoon of problems. But as we persist and do our best to move forward, our sweat and tears soften the cocoon and the hardshell that seemed to block us sheds off… then poof!

In this material world, everything flows and nothing remains the same. As Heraclitus observed, change is the only permanent thing in the world.

If we are to improve, then we have to move upwards and onwards.

Nonetheless, as we act let us not confuse movement from progress; for our state of action doesn’t always translate to advancement and improvement.

We must know which change we have to accept as it is and which we have to deliberately act upon on. We shouldn’t just be purely passive accepting every change as it happens or purely active reacting on every change.

When it comes to our personal changes, every transformational change always comes with resistance. It is but normal.

Sometimes we become comfortable with our conditions that we no longer want to take another step or change positions or transfer locations. We settle to where we are. Sometimes we stagnate, or worse, we tend to deteriorate.

We don’t notice we no longer learn new things so our minds get rustic and we become left behind or narrow-minded. We feel too safe in our seats until our sedentary lifestyle brings us to the hospital due to illnesses we didn’t know we’re forming over time. We get stuck in our relationships that hurt us, stagnate us, or rotten us thinking we would never be loved again.

Desire change! Be willing to be transformed!

At first we will naturally feel resistant to change. We will become inconsistent with our desire to improve, or at least, change status in life.

No matter what you feel, just press on!

Remember the reasons you had in mind why you wanted to change, to improve. Revisit your feelings when you first acted upon the change you want to happen. Feel your excitement and joy.

Do not limit and doubt yourself to do great things.

Ask our faithful God to guide you every step of the way.

The best change comes from God—turning your good to better, and your better to best. He is faithfully transforming us from glory to glory.

All we need to do is be willing to submit to His wonderful ways of transforming our lives. For God desires nothing but our best.

Rest on God’s unconditional love and limitless grace. How?

I. Believe in God’s Transforming Power.
-God’s love changes us for the better, He wants us to be saved and to enjoy the gift of life
-God’s miracle, blessings, and healing are always available each day

II. Change Your Perception of Yourself
-God created us with inherent capabilities no matter where we came from or how we look
-God has equipped us with necessary tools to victoriously face our refining trials
                -When God calls, He equips.

III. Look at God differently
-God is faithful to His promises and generous to both evil and good, sinners and saints (Matthew 5:45)
-God is understanding and considerate, that He even allowed Himself to become human for Him to experience the things that we experience as humans, even the harder and most painful things, to relate to us and inspire us
-God was tempted like us, but he managed the temptations well by remaining obedient to God’s word and by holding firmly to His faith

IV. Desire to be Healed Totally and Completely
-Allow God to work in our lives through and through
-While God is healing us at one area, don’t block Him to other areas so He may also transform us there because He wants to bless us and make our joy complete

V. Be Willing to Learn
-Seek for wisdom, hunger for knowledge and share them with others
-Acquire new information, modify existing ones, renew your ideas and incorporate with others'
-Have the humility to be mentored… life is an open university that is pro-students who are willing to be taught
-There are a lot of things we don’t know that we don’t know
-Even the greatest men in the world get help from others
-Leaning is the result  not the simply the process of being taught of

Remember that God is giving us our situations because He has a perfect and glorious plan for each of us. When God calls us to change, let us be responsive and be confident that all things work for our best.

Resist your resistance, not God’s transformation of us.

God continuously pour forth His blessings to us even as while we are asleep. If we think we don’t receive His gifts, or we question why others are better than we are, it is because we unconsciously resist God’s blessings.

Our laziness, our procrastination, our envy, our crab-mentality… our attitude toward receiving God’s graces is the one which hinders us from enjoying them.

1. Remove your umbrella of laziness, procrastination, skepticism and catch God’s blessing with open arms.

2. Patch the holes in your lives so the blessings you catch will not leak. Constantly train and desire to improve. Focus! Be diligent . Be self-discipline. When things become part of your system, they gradually become easy and automatic… they become you!

3. Share the things you receive and learn. What you learn and receive triples when you share them with others because others share what they have or their learnings to you too. And the good news is, even if others don’t share what they have to you, God will bless you in other amazing ways you deserve.

Like a butterfly, we were once a crawling caterpillar unappreciated by many; then surrounded by cocoon of problems. But as we persist and do our best to move forward, our sweat and tears soften the cocoon and the hardshell that seemed to block us sheds off… then poof!

We become the most beautiful insect in the field, flying high from one flower of opportunity to another. We have just been transformed by the transforming love and grace of God, through our own desire to improve and our constant action to press on.

Surprised as we are, after the refining fire of difficulties, we are now the precious gem in the midst of the vast quagmire of struggles giving hope to others—if the once feeble person has improved and so can they!

Confession of a Sinner: Humbled through the Emotional Vampire

I no longer want to be a victim of my own crime responding to his empty words, I told myself.

It’s semestral break already, but I still have exams. So, I am left alone in the metro as my brother went home for vacation.

All Soul’s Day is nearing. My neighbor who lived right beside our unit died just last August. The TV is featuring horror stories as I write at this moment.

I am not afraid for some reason. I know my God is always with me; I feel strongly secured. Nothing is to be feared, for God is beside us all the time.

Rather, I am afraid of my emotional vampire.

For the past months, I have been bothered by someone part of my history. I don’t know what exactly his motive was, but he was trying to be nice and good all of a sudden. Same pattern, same story. But I am giving benefit of the doubt that his good side urged him to do some good things, which for some reason I don’t know what and why.

I am a sinner. I am like any mortal who sins every single day.

I get angry.
I hate.
I say hurtful words.

Whatever my motive is—good or bad; white lie or plain truth; protect myself or avoid pain; tough love or indifference—the point is I sin. I do not and will not justify my actions with whatever good reasons and valid logic I may recite.

Outrightly, I sin.

I am humbled.

God is a very loving God. He looks past our mistakes, shortcomings, and failures; rather He looks at our potential.

Just the other day, I was so affected by the surprise that the person in my past have had done. In the middle of my refreshed joy and good disposition, I was practically awakened by his presence.

Boom! My heart exploded again. Debris of love, hurt, joy, sadness, hope, resistance combined and scattered everywhere I turned to.

I have forgiven him for all the hurts he caused me for very long years two years ago. I haven’t seen him for a little over a year. You can imagine my world when he showed up one day by surprise.

I thought to myself, “God, I am a sinner. I am weak. I might get even or carry a grudge or consciously let myself be fooled again. Guide me and may Your will be done for the best of us.”

I opened up myself to various emotions. Always reminding myself to give the person the chance to do whatever good he has in mind so he could be freed from the yoke he was carrying as he claimed.

I thought I already closed the door of the past and threw away the key that I would no longer be affected. But when his empty words came rushing again, I felt uncomfortable. At first I was hurt. I thought I was hurt. But as the events unfolded and same pattern happened again, I recognized, my feeling was not only hurt, but already with dash of annoyance and a tinge of anger.

I no longer want to be a victim of my own crime responding to his empty words, I told myself.

Two years ago, I gave what he asked of me. I let go of the treasure I held for a long time. I moved on on my own. I minded my own business. I never bothered the person, no matter how much the world inside me was quaking. I went away silently. I forgave. I wished him well.

The hurt has been dashed with anger after I clearly and honestly told him again my feelings and condition—I am not yet okay. I am still in the process of healing. Please let me move on as you live your own life.

He was with her, but he looked for my new address and tried to cut-and-paste me in his life.

That is foolishness and that greatly insulted me.

I have just been bitten by an emotional vampire. My energies were sucked out.

No one to blame, but myself for letting it happen. I admit, I allowed myself to be bitten. I could have been careful, but I was not.

The good news is, God only wants the best for us.

Everything happens for a good reason. God’s hands are at work in our lives preparing us to rightfully receive His amazing blessings.

I am a sinner. I am tempted. I get mad. I desire earthly pleasures.

But through God’s gift of grace, we are renewed and cleansed every single day.

It is by God’s great love and mercy that we are saved—not through ourselves, not a single goodness of hand, so no one can boast of his greatness.

Each day comes, each day I sin.
Each day I sin, each day God forgives and cleanses me.

With very thankful heart, I will do my best not to let His love be futile in my life.

I let God hold my hands, rather than I holding his hands. For as human as I am, I am inclined to let go of His hands in times of convenience, of earthly pleasure, or in times of difficulty.

With God’s guidance and leading, I know each thing every single day is wired to improve me and prepare me for His best for me.

Without delay, I am confessing the contents of my sinful heart after He surprised me with a very moving and touching words for me today, through the day’s readings and gospel… all to give thanks to Him and bring honor and glory to His name.

Like the crippled woman healed on the Sabbath, God healed and re-assured me by speaking directly to my sinful, heavy, and struggling heart as He always does, at His perfect timings…

Readings and Gospel for Monday, October 29, 2012:

            Ephesians 4:32-5:8
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[e]Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light

            Psalm 1:1-2, 3, 4, and 6

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.
Not so the wicked!
    They are like chaff
    that the wind blows away.
For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

            Luke 13:10-17

10 On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, 11 and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” 13 Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
14 Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”
15 The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? 16 Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”
17 When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.

As the Halloween approaches, let us not quiver in terror of the scary images in our minds.

Instead, let us be willing to face head on our emotional vampires that suck the energy out of us and recognize the power of God in turning these vampires into blessings in our lives—not only to see ourselves more clearly, but to allow ourselves to be healed to help others and be saved to serve others.

Knowing our sources of burden or sin should not be confused with condemning others and think highly of ourselves; but to know our weak buttons so we can offer them to God for healing. That our wounds become a source of healing for others we meet along our life’s journey.

I am no sinless; but through God’s grace I strive to sin less and less.

I was hurt. I got mad. I sinned. Now, I am humbled by God’s grace.

Instead to get scared on All Soul’s Day, I am choosing to pray for the Soul’s of our faithful departed and to reflect on my soul’s condition to bring back into kilter, as how God wants us to be—faithful and living in light.

Kenosis: Self-emptying for New Year, New Way, and New Life

New Year has become the pop time to change consciousness and ways. We refresh our lives to start anew.

We are in a “kenosis” state or “self-emptying” to make space for new habits and new blessings. We make new resolutions that we want to live by for the new year in order to achieve our new goals (or renewed goals, so to speak).

Dreams. Wishes. Resolutions. Goals. Prayers.

Everybody has new set of things to be achieved in order to enjoy a better and happier life, or simply to put life into perspective. Some focus on the aspect of career, others on love, family, studies, finance, or health.

Whatever or wherever we want to improve any time of the year, we must call on Him through whom and for whom everything is made.

Start the day with prayer and go all out with your best, and surely He will do the rest for us. Prayer reinforces our desires; excellence is what success is chasing after.

For every day of the year… Wake up gratefully. Pray faithfully. Work passionately. Decide justly. Think uprightly. Speak honestly. Respond humbly. Share generously. Go to bed joyfully—ending the day with thanksgiving and hope in heart that surely tomorrow God has more surprises and outpouring in our lives.

New year celebration is good; it brings hope and opportunity for new life.

Nevertheless, let us not discredit the fact that every day brings new hope. The good news is, we can transform our lives any day of the year! All we need is persistent prayer for discernment and determination and courage to follow the path to new life.

PS: We can enjoy and appreciate life more when we share its fruits with others. We will receive more when we empty ourselves so God can fill our lives up with more blessings, healing, and miracles. We will never lack in anything if we remain in Him and let His words remain in us and guide us (John 15:7 “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.").

The Power of 'Pure'

Purity could mean a lot of things. But in Christian parlance, it simply means GIVING YOUR 100% TO GOD!

Yes. “Simply!” Just three steps.

God simplified things for us so we can all enjoy the best gifts He prepared for us.

Firstly, PRAY EVERY MOMENT (1 Thessalonians 5:17). God is a loving Father and zealous friend. He wants to be constantly in touch with us. What is it you want to happen? Tell Him! With a trusting and grateful heart, claim your prayer! Make it your mantra. Everything is possible for him who believes (Mark 9:23). Pray anytime, anywhere, whatever you’re doing. God doesn’t care. He is everywhere (Psalm 139:7).

Secondly, SUBMIT IN EVERY AREA. Zacchaeus the tax collector (Luke 19:1-10) and Peter the persecutor (Acts 9) received salvation even before they practically submitted their ways to God. All they did was simply sought Jesus and said ‘yes’ to Him. The rest was Jesus’ love working in their lives. God knows what is best for us. The easiest and most convenient way for us to receive and enjoy the His blessings is to submit ourselves to Him. Let us not cheat and deprive ourselves of God’s gift of amazing life.

Thirdly, LOVE IN EVERY ACT (1 Corinthians 16:14). We hold the ultimate key to an amazing life. The key to heaven and earth is within us—love is within us! God commands us to love Him above all and love our neighbors as ourselves, and we will live (Luke 10:27)! Love even the most unlovable persons. Love is the mother of all great feelings; it can transform any hard rock into a soft ball of cotton candy; it is the main concoction to successful relationships; it is the ultimate power that heals. If your love is not reciprocated, rejoice still! You will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous (Luke 14:14). Nothing is wasted in love. In the end, the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love (Galatians 5:6).

Purity of heart is best manifested in the action of someone who knows no one is looking—except God. Purity of heart breeds the positive feelings of peace, gratitude, and love—the force at work behind every miracle, blessing, and healing.

The ‘Hiling’ Ministry

Temple, church, house of God… whatever our religious affiliations are, many of us see the Supreme Being’s abode as a place for two confused things: ‘healing’ and ‘hiling’.

Whenever exam season comes, we visit His place to ask for knowledge and good memory. During financial crises, we go to His house, no matter what time of the day, to beg for sources of income. If we need to restore balance in our lives, we long to feel the serenity of His house so we can ask for His guidance. When we think we already see the love of our lives, we go to church to ask for signs from Him to validate our feelings or instructions on how to get close to our object of admiration.

We don’t run out of things to ask for… well, that’s good! It’s better to come before our Supreme Being and ask for His grace and guidance rather than just relying on our own understanding and strength.

Besides, it is said (for Christians), “Ask and you will receive. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened.” Yes! The promise that we will be blessed.

Me, whenever I go to the church for sure I am asking my God for something—good health, peace of mind, discipline, discernment, strength, among other things that almost everybody wishes for.

The thing is, many of us when we go to our churches, temples, house of God, or however you may call it, we always go there ‘asking’ for our hearts’ desires then leave thereafter.

Many of us see these infrastructures as places for wishes. And when we don’t get our wishes after arduous asking, we get mad and blame Him.

We sometimes tend to overlook the meaning of what He said, “Ask and you will receive. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened.” By this, He wants us to ‘ask, seek, and knock’. Meaning, He wants us to do our part, with our best probably, and he will do the rest for us.

Sometimes, we are even asking for things contrary to His plans for us. Thus, when our hearts become persistent to what they want and we grant our wishes with self-made answers (we go ahead of God’s answers); all the more He also becomes persistent in pursuing His plans for us and keep us back on the right course… to complete the best plan of all, in accordance to his glorious riches and best timeframe.

There are also times when He already answered our prayers, but we just don’t notice them because we are so focused on something else—on what we want.

In times of waiting or blindedness, we don't even tell Him, "God, I already labored with everything and did my best. I have hit blank walls. Whatever you want me to do, reveal it to me and I will follow." Faith. Yes, faith! Asking to increase our faith.

Moreover, there are also times when He wants us to wait and persevere so we can learn and grow from our circumstances first as He prepares us for our premium blessings.

When we feel tired from praying and waiting, we blame Him, we go away forgetting that He loves us and all He wants for us is the best, and only the best.

On the other hand, in pleasant times when our wishes have been granted and when our pains or difficulties ebb already, our gratefulness to him simultaneously recedes… then proceed to another ‘hiling’.

We focus more on our own wants, desires, and needs that we already forget the other equally important actions we must offer Him whenever we visit his abode or even just while spending exclusive time with Him somewhere else.

When we intentionally visit His house, we immediately proceed to ‘supplication’ or ‘hiling’, skipping offering Him praises (adoration), asking for forgiveness (contrition), expressing our gratitude (thanksgiving), and sometimes, allotting quiet time to listen to Him.

We are so active on asking and asking and asking… and we can stay awake on our knees until dawn just to ask. But we don’t get shy come thanksgiving time. We just thank Him in two minutes—dashing like in the last two minutes of a hoops playoff.

Now, as we already mastered the ministry of ‘hiling’, we can now start learning and mastering (with just the same zeal) adoration, repentance, thanksgiving, and listening to Him. And perhaps, we are now ready to explore other ministries so we can better serve Him as we become His instruments in blessing others and as we become blessed through others.

The Feast: Six Steps to Optimal Health: 3. Heal Through Loving Relationships

*Genesis 2:18
-“Then the LORD God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”

*Ecclesiastes 4:9
-“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work”

*People get sick because they are poisoned by their bad/ill relationships or because they don’t have love

*Basic relationship on earth: how’s your relationship with your parents?

*Only LOVE heals

--------------------------------------------------------------------

- In 1956, Harvard made a study on healthy men, asking them how their relationships with their parents are. Their choices for their answers were: close to both, only close to mother, only close to father, close to none. After 10 years, the researcher checked their health. The results are below:

>Close to both parents:
-27% sick
-53% healthy
>Close to mother:
-82% sick
-18% healthy
>Close to father:
-91% sick
-9% healthy
>Close to none: 100% sick

- Sickness is separation (sickness is caused by stress, worry, fear, sadness, and other negative emotions)
- Perfect love casts out all fears
- Celebrate. Love. Connect.
-
Separation LOVE Connection

- When you forgive, trust, and love, you walk towards healing.
- We are not wired for separation/quarrel; we are made for love.

-------------------------------------------------------
-Some Italians from the province of Roseto migrated to Pennsylvania (that’s why there’s a place there not called Roseto also). Other doctors and scientists found a ‘medical anomaly’ in Roseto, Pennsylvania. All residents there are healthy and live longer compared with other Americans. It was later on discovered that the residents of Roseto, Pennsylvania brought their Italian culture of lovingness, cheerfulness, and close family ties and resisted the individualistic culture of Americans.

-------------------------------------------------------

- When you love sincerely, you feel healthy
- It’s God who heals… He has given us everything we need, including the power of love to heal our bodies.

-------------------------------------------------------

Heal Through Loving Relationships

I. Open up

1. Build a Roseto (close family) at your homes.
 build the capacity to give more love and to openly receive love
 spend more time with your family

2. Give more love
 S study was conducted among women with breast cancer. After the study, it was found out that those women with caring group (family and/or friends) lived twice as long; the other group without caring group, most of them died in less than 5 years, some a little over 5 years.
 With a caring group, joy and love are multiplied; and sorrows and sadness are divided.

II. Touch

1. Start showing your affection (go against the culture of individualism)
 Touch, hug, love
 It was proven that a pat on the back from loved ones lessen blockages in arteries by 60%
 Psychologist Sydney Gerard went around the world to observe people touching their partners in different restaurants. He found that:
- Puerto Rico: ave of 180 touches per hour
- Paris: ave of 110 touches per hour
- US: ave of 2 touches per hour
- London: 0

3. Create a culture that acknowledges one another (handshake, beso, hug)
4. Create a culture of “loving”

III. Volunteer

 Cornell University conducted study among 427 mothers with children. Researchers found out that longevity of mothers’ lives do not depend on number of kids, but whether they volunteer or not:
- who did not volunteer: 52% got sick after certain number of years
- who volunteered: 36% got sick after the same number of years

 The fastest and most effective way out of depression (thus, sickness) is OTHERS.
 Help others and you will help yourself.

IV. Accept more

1. Accept and give way.
 There are times that we are convinced that we are right; but we must also accept at times that the other person is also right (and we may be wrong).

2. Let the other person explain his side until he feels satisfied (for couples).
 Bro. Randy Boromeo and his wife never encountered a fight in their marriage life yet because they hear each other’s sides with patience, and whenever they feel that their emotions are mounting already they just hold each other’s hands.
 Make you own cues, be vigilant of each other’s cues, and understand each other.

3. If you want to be healed lose your need to defend your point of view.
 Surrender to God your excess pride
 Have a humble heart
 Don’t judge right away
 Remember that the quality of you life depends on the quality of your relationships.

-----------------------------------------------------------

*Proverbs 22:24
- “Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered”

*John 15:15
- “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

*Ephesians 4:32
- “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

------------------------------------------------------------
Challenge:

 Forgive! God wants to heal you.
 Live in LOVE
 Accept. Submit everything to God. Trust his love for you.
 Remove pride! Be GRATEFUL and HUMBLE.

The Feast: Six Steps to Optimal Health: 2. Heal Your Emotions

*Proverbs 17:22
- “A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones.”

*Sirach 38:9-10
- “My son, when you are ill, delay not, but pray to God, who will heal you: Flee wickedness; let your hands be just, cleanse your heart of every sin;”

*The bigger the trials, the bigger the victory :-)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

-What you feel, you can heal.
-Lord puts in us a fantastic system that heals (1. Our bodies have their best repairment; 2. Our bodies have the best army—the antibodies; 3. Our bodies have the best pharmacy in the world—we are able to secrete hormones for us to naturally heal.)

-7.2 M die yearly because of cancer. 85% of all diseases are rooted from negative emotions.

-Pills only relieves us temporarily from pain; but FORGIVENESS is one of the keys to feel better and avoid negative emotions.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

2 ways to get sick (things to avoid):

Too much negative emotions
Too little positive emotions

1. Too Much Negative Emotions

Stress and sickness are related.

>type A personality are prone to heart disease. (controlling, competitive, always rushing, etc.)

>enjoy life; slow down; trust God

>most heart attacks happen on Mondays

Anger and sickness are related

> other people find it hard to forgive

>people who easily get mad have higher death rate (6x) than those who are not (taken from the hostility test taken among doctors)

How to deal with stress:
Ø you cannot pretend that they’re not there… don’t run away from your negative emotions. You can’t escape from them. If you’ll avoid them, one day you’ll be numbed, and they’re still there becoming worse and manifesting in your body.
Ø feel you negative feelings before the Lord and come to Him…pray to Him. Let your problems press you closer to God (instead of making your problems stand between you and God).
Ø you can be yourself and be true to God—it’s okay to air to Him your emotions, sentiments, questions. (Psalm 22 and Psalm 55)
Ø don’t be afraid to ask the Lord why… but remember, they way you ask must be guided and has limitation that is set on trust in Him.

2. Too Little Positive Emotions

>the oil of gladness will bring us good health

>life is too good to be wasted on little things that won’t bring us good.

>focus on your blessings and on good things.

>acknowledge what gives you pain and pray to God for/about it.

>GRATITUDE!—always look for something to be thankful for and happy about.

>TRUST!—when you know that GOD is:
in love with you
thinks of you all the time
has great plans for you
..what can go wrong?

>the Bible has 7,000 direct promises of God and more than 30,000 indirect promises of God.

>1 Peter 5:7
- “7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

> “Devil, you pick the wrong guy, God cares for me!”

>Thank God for what you have.

>Ask God. Believe that you will have it. Feel the feeling of having it already.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

***Challenges and reminders…

change you emotions
reprogram your mind and heart
decide not to be affected by negative people, events, and things
think happy thought (healthy, wealthy, happy)… your emotions follow your mind.
you have a God bigger than your problems
“Greater is He who’s in me than who’s in the word.”

The Feast: Six Steps to Optimal Health: 1. Awaken the Healer In You

*You will be healed because God loves you
*The Bible contains all the nice, right, and good things and the truth.

Journey to a healthy you…

-It’s not about gaining or losing weight; it’s about being healthy
-Read 3 John 1:2
-God is concerned about your health
-God is practical God—you don’t have to do complicated things just to be healed…
-Go away from stressful thoughts, temptations, and spiritual, emotional, & chemical toxins before you get sick; or decide to quit while you’re ahead
-Have a simple faith—God loves you very much and He will do something great for you. Just hold fast unto your prayers and live your faith
-God has given you THE POWER TO HEAL YOURSELF

Our bodies are designed to heal itself:

1.) Our bodies have their best repairment—it’s in our system.

>remember your wounds when you were still kids… other don’t even leave a scar on our skin because your body has repaired the tissues even without the help of some medicines

2.) Our bodies have the best army—the antibodies.

>chemo kills even the good cells in once’s body. But the antibodies only kills the bad matters in our system.

>what weakens the healers in us are the toxins that we take and the negative thoughts in our minds.

>Read Mark 2:3-5

>the wages of sin is death… sin is connected to disease (when you destroy the

temple of God, bad feelings or thoughts against other people)

>the state of the heart is always connected to our physical conditions

3.) Our bodies have the best pharmacy in the world—we are able to secrete hormones for us to naturally heal.

>”placebo effect” => we become healed because we hold a mindset and a strong belief that we will be healed through that certain pill, which actually has no medicinal effect.

>our bodies can manufacture anti-cancer cells

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

-When you’re praying with profound peace, you feel the strongest
-Laughing (endorphins) heals the body
-“Don’t be moved by all that you see, hear, read… be moved by what you believe in.”
-If you’re walking in Christ, you’ll see miracles happen
-Quantum Physics: our body is like a flowing stream of energy; when something is wrong, the flow of energy is hampered.

Quantum Physicists discovered that:
 our brain is renewed/ changed in 1 year
 liver is renewed/ changed in 3 weeks
 skeleton is renewed/ changed in 3 months
 stomach lining is renewed/ changed in 3 weeks

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

-Your body is the expression of your soul—if your soul/mind won’t change, your body (physical condition) won’t
-95% of our thoughts yesterday are being carried over today; if we will change the way we think today, tomorrow our thoughts will change 95%
-If your thoughts change, so do your expectations (eg: I know I will be healed and God will grant my prayers because He loves me… then you will expect that you will live a life full of vigor as you enjoy good health
-Are you expecting to be healed or to be sick?
-Our bodies manifest our beliefs
-Love life! don’t expect sickness
-The preacher’s lolo who died in his 90’s once said, after many times of being sent to ICU, “You cannot put a good man down. Kaya gusto ko pang mabuhay kasi alam kong mahal niyo ako.”
-GROW OLD STRONG AND BLESSED! Grow old a hundred, with a body of a year-old healthy man.
-Pray that we may all journey towards good health so we can serve the Lord longer and enjoy His blessings more with our loved ones.
-You have the authority to cast out evil
-If you will pray, God will answer.
-Expect healing and do it in faith
-God has put in your body something that will heal you—best repairment, best army, best pharmacy.
-God gives you the ability to dream and fulfill them
-GOD WILL DO SOMETHING GREAT FOR YOU BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU!
